TTSB is a joint-venture company set up by the Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad - Permodalan Nasional Berhad (MRCB-PNB) Consortium. Its maiden mission was to develop, engineer and construct the nation's first-ever 500kV transmission lines and associated substations for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) is an investment holding company, set up to promote the interest of 'bumiputera' corporate community through equity participation in relevant companies. It has substantial investment in several of the largest companies that are listed in the Bursa Saham Malaysia covering various sectors including plantations, finance, property services and manufacturing.
